Critical thinking
Abstract
Critical thinking is applied in our daily life where we need to make decisions. Therefore, the ability to interpret, analyse and evaluate ideas and arguments are indispensable skills that every citizen should possess. Poor judgment can have serious ramifications to both the leaders and the followers. Similarly, conflicts are mainly caused by misunderstandings arising from illogical arguments and inadequate negotiation skills. To be able to solve daily problems, we need to be able to reason well and logically. The magnitude of failure to efficiently resolve conflicts in the society can be catastrophic in terms of social and economic costs. This paper therefore addresses the role of critical thinking in addressing various issues in the society with special reference to Africa.
